What We Collect

When you use Tubeofile, we collect:

Account Information

  • Email address — from your Google or GitHub sign-in, used to identify your account
  • Nickname — chosen by you during sign-up, publicly visible
  • Avatar — optionally uploaded by you, or sourced from your sign-in provider
  • OAuth provider ID — to link your sign-in provider to your account

Collection Data

  • Tube collection entries you create (manufacturer, condition, date codes, purchase info, notes, photos, tester readings)
  • This data is private to your account

Automatically Collected

  • Standard server logs (IP address, request timestamps) as part of normal web hosting
  • No analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party trackers are used

How We Use Your Data

  • Email — to identify your account. Not shared publicly. Not used for marketing.
  • Nickname — displayed publicly where your activity is visible (e.g. issue reports)
  • Collection data — stored to provide the service. Not shared with third parties.
  • Issue reports and tube requests — submitted to our public GitHub repository. Your nickname and user ID are included; your email is not.

Third-Party Services

  • Google / GitHub OAuth — used for authentication. We receive your email, name, and profile image from these providers. We do not access any other data from your Google or GitHub accounts.
  • GitHub API — used to create issue tickets when you request a tube or report a data issue. Your nickname (not email) is included in the issue body.

Data Storage

  • Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database.
  • Uploaded files (avatars, collection photos) are stored on the application server.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties.

Your Rights

  • Access — you can view all your data through the app (collection, profile).
  • Delete — you can delete your account at any time from the Profile page. This permanently removes all your data, including collection entries, photos, and tester readings.
  • Portability — contact us if you need an export of your data.

Data Retention

  • Your data is retained as long as your account exists.
  • When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently deleted from the database and filesystem.

Cookies

  • Tubeofile uses a session cookie for authentication (provided by NextAuth). No tracking cookies are used.

Children

Tubeofile is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
