The 6BG6G has the same internal structure as the 6L6G but with the plate brought out to a top cap instead of a base pin. This provides the high-voltage insulation needed for TV horizontal deflection service where peak plate voltages can reach 6600V.
Maximum peak positive plate voltage is 6600V and peak negative plate voltage is 1500V — these extreme ratings are for TV flyback pulse operation, not continuous DC service.
Triode mu = 8.0 (measured at Eb=Ec2=250V, Ec1=-15V). This confirms the tube's 6L6 heritage — the 6L6 family has mu ≈ 8 in triode mode.
In stages operating with grid-leak bias, an adequate cathode bias resistor or other suitable means is required to protect the tube in the absence of excitation.
The 19BG6G is identical except for 19V/0.3A series heater (vs 6.3V/0.9A) — used in AC/DC TV receivers with series heater strings.
