Notes
Tung-Sol datasheet (1940) confirms: full-wave high vacuum rectifier, 6.3V/0.5A heater (AC or DC), UX5 (5D) base, unipotential cathode.
Rectifier reference confirms: Vdrop=20V, max DC output=60 mA, max AC voltage=325V RMS per plate, 4C base designation (but actually 5-pin per datasheet).
Maximum peak inverse voltage: 1250V.
Maximum DC heater-to-cathode potential: 450V.
Maximum steady-state peak plate current per plate: 180 mA.
With condenser input filter: Va_max=325V RMS, Idc_max=60 mA, effective plate supply impedance=65 ohms per plate.
With choke input filter: Va_max=450V RMS, Idc_max=60 mA, value of input choke minimum 10 henrys.
Tube voltage drop at 60 mA DC per plate: 20V.
MIL-HDBK-213A lists other_number as 6Z4, class description as full wave rectifier.
Originally developed by Sylvania, first marketed by Philco in March 1933. Later manufacture had double brand 84-6Z4.
When filter condensers larger than 40 uF are used, additional plate supply impedance may be necessary.
